The Samurai
The Samurai is a historical fiction tv set made by Senkosha Productions during the 1960s. Its Japanese name was Onmitsu Kenshi. The series premiered in 1962 on TBS and conducted until 1965 for ten story arcs of 13 episodes each. Also created were just two black feature movies by Toei Company, produced in 1964 by precisely the same crew which has established the TV series, and a stage show.
The Samurai proved to be successful despite its funding. This was the very 1st television program built a up among the community crowd at the moment and ever screened in Australia, where it premiered in 1964 learning to be a cult favourite. Despite success in the Philippines and Japan, New Zealand as well as the huge recognition in Australia, the series was not widely screened everywhere and also its popularity remains restricted to all those nations.
This was followed in 1965 by the spinoff series the newest Samurai, featuring a completely new personality, which was cancelled after just 3 9 episodes, compared to the 128 episodes of the series. Back in 1973, a color television series was designed for 26 episodes in an abortive attempt of a remake after which a re boot. The TV series All was sponsored by Takeda Pharmaceutical.
