The X Factor is a television music contest to locate new singing ability, challenged by musicians drawn out of public auditions. Created by Simon Cowell, the series has since aired from August/September to December and started in September 2004. It is broadcast on TV3 in Ireland and the ITV system in the United Kingdom , with spin-off Behindthescenes series The Xtra Factor screened on ITV2. It is the originator of this international The xfactor franchise. The X Factor was invented as a replacement for its highly powerful Pop Idol, that had been put on indefinite hiatus as a result of its second show, largely because Cowell, that had been a judge on Pop Idol, wanted to establish a new series to he owned the television rights. The similarity between the two shows became the topic of a dispute. The"X Factor" of the name refers to this undefinable"some thing" which produces for celebrity caliber. The first estimating panel was first Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Dannii Minogue combined the panel series 4 years, and Cheryl Cole substituted Osbourne after her death in string 5. After show , Cole and Cowell made to gauge the American form of the series whilst Minogue abandoned the series due to responsibilities on Australia's Got Talent. Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow then combined Walsh to the panel for string 8, even though Rowland announced she would not go back for string 9 and had been substituted by Nicole Scherzinger. Osbourne came back 2013, replacing Contostavlos. As 2007, the series has been presented by Dermot O'Leary, who substituted initial host Kate Thornton. The series is broken up into a succession of phases, subsequent to contestants out of auditions to the grand finale.
