Once upon the 1970 s, Dan Stark and his partner, Frank Savage, were big-shot Dallas detectives. So big, in reality, they were lauded as heroes after rescuing the Governor's son. Thirty years later, Dan Stark is really a washedup detective that spends all his time re-hashing his glory days or drunk. Dan's new partner, Jack Bailey, is a by-the-book, ambitious and over all fantastic detective, however, is too snarky because of their very good. His habit of endangering himself has made him a position in the department, also he is stuck solving annoying theft cases that nobody wants. He's already been given the job of babysitting the drunk pariah who can not maintain spouses for long , Dan.
