Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama-mystery series created by Marc Cherry and produced by Cherry Productions and ABC Studios. It aired Sundays at 9 P.M. Eastern/8 P.M. Central, on ABC in October 3, 2004, before May 13, 2012. Executive manufacturer Cherry functioned as show runner. Other executive manufacturers since the fourth year included Bob Daily, George W. Perkins, John Pardee, Joey Murphy, David Grossman, along with Larry Shaw. The main setting of the series was Wisteria Lane, a street at the American town of'Fairview' from the fictional'Eagle State'. The series followed the lives of a group of women as seen through the eyes of a dead neighbor who committed suicide at the early incident. The story covers ten decades of the lives of their women over eight seasons, set between later, also the years 2004 -- 2008 2013--2017. They functioned through family life and domestic struggles, while facing offenses the secrets and puzzles hidden behind the doors of these -- at the surface -- amazing and seemingly perfect suburban neighborhood. The series featured an ensemble cast Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, and Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong narrated the series as the deceased Mary Alice Young, appearing periodically in flashbacks or fantasy sequences.
